Every so often along the path, there will be a crack or a hole leading into the mountain, but every opening is guarded. The guardians look like scrawny lions with feather wings. They might prowl along the path, or curl up at rest in front of a cave, or circle in the sky around the mountain, but every entrance will always be guarded by at least one of them.
The mountain is solid rock, so it's pretty barren, but there is one kind of plant scattered around that grows straight out of the stone. It has a silvery stalk and few leaves, and makes a seed at its tip that looks like a shiny drop of water. As long as the guardians eat one of the seeds every four days, they don't need anything else.
If you visit the mountain, the guardians will growl at you, and attack if you get too close. But as long as you don't try to go into the caves, it's not that hard to avoid them. It's even easier if you find a plant that's sprouted a shiny. If you eat it within a few seconds of picking it, you'll start to almost float, and be able to bound along the boulders and jump straight up to the next loop of the path.
